When the water collects inside the machine, we recommend checking if your gas cylinder is tightly screwed in, the bottles are not overfilled before the carbonation and the handle is operated in a gentle manner - all of this can contribute to the issue.

In order to remove the trapped water, you can simply unscrew the plastic under the Carbonator's foot. For that, first, you need to unscrew the two screws under the drip tray, then the 4 screws underneath the machine, around the cylinder compartment. A Philips head screwdriver is required.  

It is also good to double-check the seal in the compartment where you screw in the gas cylinder. It should look like the 1st picture. If you notice any abnormalities, a spare gasket is located underneath the foot of the machine. If you need to replace the seal, please go to article Replacing the gas-block gasket.
